The PROGRAMME proposed here has not yet been finalised, but it provides for board and
lodging for pilgrims and offers religious services in the context of the exposition
of the Shroud. THE DAY AT THE CATHEDRAL
AT 6.45 A.M. Eucharist will be celebrated for all pilgrims.
No other services will be available in the Cathedral.
AT 7.15 A.M. pilgrims start the preparatory route before their encounter
with the Shroud.
The procession of pilgrims will continue all day until 10 OCLOCK P.M.
Coming out of the Cathedral pilgrims will find themselves in the PENITENTIARY
AREA, where they can take the sacrament of RECONCILIATION (the service will be laid
on in several languages).
In the area adjacent to the Cathedral there will be a chapel for SILENT WORSHIP and the
EUCHARIST (Holy Communion).
THE SICK AND THEIR COMPANIONS
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS have been set aside especially for the sick and their
companions.
IN THE CHURCHES OF THE HISTORIC CENTRE
In the churches of the historic centre of Turin and suburbs it will be possible to hold
services and meet to pray. IT IS IMPORTANT to contact the SECRETARIAT to plan the
calendar so as to prevent different groups from overlapping.
PREPARE THE JOURNEY
It is important for organised groups from parishes and diocese to get in touch
with the exposition organisation from now on and the sooner the better. In this way we can
lay on accommodation in time (in religious houses, hotels, parish communities...)
according to pilgrims needs and to what is still available.
THE PILGRIM'S GUIDE
The Guide to the pilgrimage will come out in the next few months. It contains useful
information on the Shroud and on the city of Turin. The Guide will also provide details on
where services can be held and an aid to prayer containing the prayers most suited to the
pilgrimage to the Shroud.
