The Unrolling of the Shroud The Shroud is withdrawn
from the precious case in which it was kept, it
is unrolled and placed on the flat surface on
which it will lay inside the new case.

Official opening of the
Exposition 1998 On Saturday April 18, at 4 p.m., the
archbishop of Turin, keeper of the Shroud, card.
Giovanni Saldarini celebrated the solemn opening
mass in the Cathedral.
