WELCOME, PILGRIM
NO PUBLIC EXHIBITION IN 2025
Participation in the party on the afternoon of Saturday 3 May 2025 is open to all young people. The passage to the Cathedral is instead reserved for young people from the dioceses of Turin and Susa who participate in the 2024-2025 training journey with the Archbishop. Info: giovani@diocesi.to.it).
No other exhibition of the Shroud are planned in the coming months.
To visit the chapel where the Shroud is kept, there is no need for a reservation: you can enter every day, during the opening hours of the Turin Cathedral (Monday – Friday: 10am-12.30pm, 4pm-7pm; Saturday: 9am-1pm; 3pm-7pm; Sunday 8am-1pm, 3pm-7pm).
WHERE IS THE SHROUD NOW
The resting place of the Shroud is within Turin Cathedral (Piazza San Giovanni), in the last chapel of the left aisle, under the Royal Tribune.
Under normal circumstances, the Shroud cannot be observed directly, as it is preserved within a special “conservation case”, which in turn is enclosed in a large metal box.
The Cloth is extracted from its case only on the occasion of public expositions.
Pilgrims can reach the chapel and stop in prayer outside (in front of the chapel window there are benches and kneelers). They will thus find themselves right in front of the box that encloses the Shroud.
Welcome to sindone.org
Welcome to the official website of the Shroud: www.sindone.org is the online service of the Diocesan Commission for the Shroud. During public expositions this site is the “container” of all the services concerning the exposition (reservations, practical information, links with all the other realities that deal with the exposition and the Shroud.
